I am a practicing interventional cardiologist in Pierce County, Washington. This web site contains some information about me for my patients.
After graduating from Lakeside High School in Seattle, I attended Harvard College where I met my wife. I went to Yale Medical School and completed my internal medicine training at Boston Medical Center (Boston University School of Medicine), the old Boston City Hospital. It was a terrific experience educationally, but it will always hold a special place in my heart because it was during this period of my life that my two oldest sons were born. We took care of all kinds of common and uncommon conditions at Boston Medical Center. I began to develop my passion for cardiology after taking care of patients with heart failure, heart attacks, and irregular heart rhythms in the coronary care unit.
After a year as a chief resident, overseeing the teaching and educational experience of approximately 150 physicians-in-training, I went to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard Medical School) for my cardiology training. At Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center I completed my general cardiology training as well as my interventional cardiology training. I spent a total of 16 years on the East coast after high school in intensive study to acquire the skills and knowledge I need to help my patients. While I had a wonderful experience on the East coast and enjoyed both the educational opportunities and the beautiful fall colors, I was homesick. The day I finished my formal training on June 30, 2006 I took a one way, non-stop flight to return to my home in the Northwest. I came back with my wife and two boys. I have never been happier. Since returning home I have been blessed with a third son who was born in January 2009 at Tacoma General Hospital.

I designed and created this website in 2007 to share a bit of myself with my patients. My son Andrew designed the web template that I used in 2024 to update the site.
